BMX Racing Novelty Money Bill # 060
More than three-decades ago, kids on bicycles went onto vacant land and created their own racing venue emulating motorcycle motocross racers. A new sport, Bicycle Motocross, was born. That name was quickly shortened to BMX. It grabbed the attention of thousands of kids in a short time. Boys and girls on their modified bicycles were seen jamming through the dirt emulating their motorcycle motocross heroes. Imitation lead to innovation and quickly the kids were performing tricks and "getting air" that made their motorcycle heroes green with envy. The next step was organized racing. By 1977, pockets of loosely organized BMX races dotted the nation from coast to coast. Today it is a major sport. This is a Retired Bill. Only 14 left! Skiing Novelty Money Bill # 052
Skiing, a mode of transportation that evolved into a sport, involves moving over snow on a pair of long, flat skis attached to shoes or boots. Skiing was born in Scandinavia 4,000-5,000 years old. The earliest skis were often short and broad. Skiing was used in warfare in Scandinavia from the 13th century to the 20th century. Skis have continued to be used for transport and travel to the present day. The earliest mode of skiing developed into the sport now called cross-country skiing. Ski-jumping competitions date from the 1870s. Downhill skiing was limited (in the absence of mountain railways or cable cars) by the need to climb the hill after skiing down; the building of ski lifts began in the 1930s. Skis were originally made of a single piece of wood, usually hickory. Laminated construction began in the 1930s, and plastic running surfaces were introduced in the 1950s. Wood has not been used in the construction of downhill skis for many decades. The business of skiing began its serious growth in the 1930s, and became explosive in the 1950s and 1960s. Huge ski resorts now dot the Austrian, Swiss, and Italian Alps, and the U.S. Rocky Mountains. This is a Retired Bill. We only have a limited quantity of these bills in stock, so order yours now!

Surfer Novelty Money Bill # 013
Surfing is the sport of riding breaking
waves toward the shore, especially with a surfboard. The goal is to maneuver on
the unbroken face of the wave, preferably as far back toward the curl ("tube")
as possible. Surfing originated prehistorically in the South Seas. Capt. James
Cook first reported seeing surfers in Tahiti and on Oahu in 1777 and 1778. In
1821 surfing was banned by missionaries who believed it was immoral. Famous
Hawaiian swimmer Duke Kahanamoku revived surfing in the 1920s. Today,
surfing is enjoyed on beaches with breakers throughout the world. Several
international championships are held. In addition to surfboards, surfers can use
belly-boards and kneeboards or kayaks, or they can bodysurf using no board at
all. This is a Retired Bill. We only have a limited quantity of these bills in stock, so order yours now!
