$10,000 Eisenhower Novelty Money Bill # 191
Our $10,000 bill pictures Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. Although Eisenhower has never been pictured on authentic US currency, he is pictured here on our novelty currency. Eisenhower served as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe in World War II, and later served as the first Supreme Commander of NATO, before serving two terms as President from 1953 to 1961. During his presidency, he was credited with ending the Korean War, continuing pressure on the Soviet Union during the Cold War, starting the space race, beginning the Interstate Highway System, expanding Social Security, and making nuclear weapons a major defense strategy. The largest currency bill ever printed by the US government for general circulation was the $10,000 bill; last printed in 1946. (The US government did print a $100,000 Gold Certificate in 1934 and 1935, but it was only used for transactions between Federal Reserve Banks and was not circulated among the general public).

Comics (Superhero) Novelty Money Bill # 072
In the 1890s several U.S. newspapers
featured weekly comic drawings that were funny, but without indicated speech. In
1897, the New York Journal featured humorous strips containing words that
were presumably spoken by the characters. Soon speeches in balloons appeared in
other cartoons, arranged in a series to form a strip. The comic strip arrived at
its maturity in 1907 when the comic strip Mutt and Jeff appeared daily in
the San Francisco Chronicle. The first true comic books were marketed
in the U.S. in 1933 as giveaway advertising premiums. By 1935 reprints of
newspaper strips and comic books with original stories were selling in large
quantities. During World War II, comics dealing with war and crime were popular
among soldiers stationed abroad. In the 1950s comic books were blamed for
juvenile delinquency, and the industry responded with self-censorship. In the
1960s comic books satirizing the cultural underworld became popular, especially
among college students. Comic books have also been used to deal with
serious subjects. Today, comics represent a thriving subculture. Our colorful
Comics action bill celebrates the history of
the comics and brings out the kid in all of us!
Anyone who loves the comics, and especially the action heroes, will love this
beautiful bill. This One Million Dollar funny money bill is sure to delight your child, or
the child in you!

Beer (Oktoberfest) Novelty Money Bill # 047
Oktoberfest is an annual two-week celebration in Munich, Germany that ends on the first Sunday of October. It first started in 1810 as a horse race celebrating the wedding of the Bavarian crown prince, King Louis I. The annual race was soon combined with the state agricultural fair, and food and drink were provided. In the late 1900s, Munich breweries celebrated Oktoberfest by setting up large beer halls, each seating several thousand, and hiring bands to entertain the crowds as they ate and drank. Germanic communities in the U.S. hold their own Oktoberfest celebrations annually. Our colorful one million dollar Beer novelty bill salutes one of the most popular drinks in the world. This $1,000,000 bill is sure to please that beer aficionado in your life! Cheers!

Lighthouse (Light at the End of the Storm) Novelty Money Bill # 078
Our Lighthouse bills commemorate the lighthouse, generally a towered structure built on land or on shallow sea bottoms to warn sailors of danger and to provide a guiding beacon. The first lighthouses were wooden structures that frequently washed away in major storms. The first lighthouse made of interlocking masonry blocks appeared in England in 1759, and remained the main structural component until concrete and steel began being used in the 20th century. Brighter electric-filament lamps, better lenses, and better reflectors have enhanced the ability of lighthouses to provide a gleaming light of hope and safety to seafarers. Lighthouses of today are not as likely to be the Light at the End of the Story as they previously were because they are being replaced by radio and satellite-based navigation systems. Get your supply of these interesting historical bills before they go away like the lighthouses of yesteryear!

Native American Indian Novelty Money Bill # 197
Our Native American bill is in recognition of the many Indian Nations that are a part of the United States. The U.S. Constitution recognizes the Indian Nations as sovereign governments. When explorer Christopher Columbus landed on the island of San Salvador in 1492, he was welcomed by brown-skinned people who resembled people of India, and who, therefore, he called Indios, Indians, a name that won general acceptance. Native Americans, or American Indians, make up less than one-percent of the U.S. population, but represent half the languages and cultures in the U.S.

Pirates Novelty Money Bill # 159
Our novelty Pirates One Million Gold Doubloons bill romanticizes the pirates who preyed on legitimate shippers of yesteryear. One of the most famous was William Kidd, known as Captain Kidd, portrayed on the front of our bill. In 1695, Kidd was a legitimate privateer (one who has a private ship that is privately crewed but authorized by a government to attack or capture enemy vessels). He had been commissioned by the British government to apprehend pirates who robbed the ships of the East India Co. On the voyage, Kidd himself turned pirate and robbed several ships. He surrendered in New York in 1699, after having been promised a pardon. He was sent to England for trial, convicted, and was hanged. Some of his pirated treasure was recovered from Gardiner's Island (off New York), but much of it was never found. After Kidd's death, he attained legendary status as a dashing swashbuckler. Buy your Pirates One Million Gold Doubloons bills today, for a lot less than a pirate's doubloon (a gold coin used in Spain and Spanish America). Teddy Bear One Hundredth Anniversary Novelty Money Bill # 172
On November 15, 1902, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt went to Mississippi to help settle a border dispute between Mississippi and Louisiana. While there, Roosevelt went on a bear hunt. The hunt was unsuccessful, and the story is that promoters tied a black bear to a tree for Roosevelt to shoot. Roosevelt declined to be unsportsmanlike and did not shoot the bear. The next day, Washington Post cartoonist Clifford Barryman immortalized the incident in a cartoon showing Roosevelt refusing to shoot the bear. In effect, the cartoon pictured Roosevelt "drawing a line in the sand" by settling a border line dispute, and by refusing to shoot the bear. A Brooklyn, NY shopkeeper, Morris Michtom, displayed two toy bears made by his wife, Rose, in his shop window. They were a huge success. Michtom received permission from President Roosevelt to name the bears "Teddy's Bears." In 1903 Michtom started Ideal Novelty and Toy Corporation, the first US manufacturer of Teddy's Bears. At the same time in Germany, the Steiff Company of Giengen produced its first jointed, stuffed bear, a creation of Margaret Steiff. Steiff's bears were introduced at the 1903 Leipzig Fair, but were not well received by the Europeans. An American buyer, aware of the interest in Teddy's Bears in the states, ordered 3,000 of them to be sent to the US, propelling the Steiff Company forward. Since then, Teddy Bears have been a popular toy in the US. Order your copies of our 100th Anniversary Teddy Dollars today!
